Information you need at hand
You can join Net Wizards now and have access to our demonstration store
where you will be able to familiarise yourself with its features and
functionality.
Before you set up your on-line store, you will need to be ready
to provide certain information. If you are a sole trader this is quite
straightforward, if you are a limited company you will need to provide
the following additional information:
- Registered Business Name
- Country of registration
- Company registration number
- Trading name
To build your shop you will need:
- Your logo in a loadable format (or create one on the site)
- Images of your products
- List of categories
- Short details of each category
- Short details of each product
- Greater product details for each product page
Images
Scanned images, or those taken with a digital camera may be uploaded to
your shop. We suggest you have a thumbnail image of approximately 250 x
250 pixels for each product and a larger picture of around 450 x 450
pixels for the product page. The E-Commerce Wizard can resize an image
to any size you want, but the recommended sizes allow for faster screen
loading.
Categories
The E-Commerce Wizard can host as many categories as you want. A
category should represent a distinct type of product, i.e. Books,
Videos, Software, Jackets, etc.
Product Descriptions
Each category should be detailed in a short 10 - 15 word introduction.
Individual product descriptions should, ideally, be around 50 words.
Price List
Obviously, each product offered for sale should have a price. Although VAT and delivery charges are automatically added to the shopping trolley, you will need to take into account Card Transaction Charges and Merchant Account Charges when calculating your prices.
Product Codes
If you already use product codes, these may be used when setting up
your store - or new ones devised to suit your purposes.
